Nice wake up call Rick!
I for one here on my adopted home turf (Maderia Island) am still happily
carving away!
As you say, the year 2000 (2001?) could be lucrative to those of
us with the equipment and patience needed to knock
out commemorative pieces by the score! Myself,
although I've done my trophy awards(with its'fearful get it
ready on the day,or else!), I find it a bit tedious, and prefer to
do my usual larger commissions....with
modern high tech equipment I can now etch and/blast
from the miniscule to the enormous. (I need this
flexability for myself and my clients)
Panels over the years seem to be getting larger,
heavier and I'm now constructing another
booth/blast room to take up to 330cm X 180cm
plate and tempered glass for shower stalls etc.
Thing is to try to move heavy sheets with the least possible
strain (and danger!)..I'm working on a ground level roller system,
with side slot insertion into blast unit, gr8 for view checks
as you can easily slide these large panels in and out...
Just a little (personal) input, to keep this great
subject, we all enjoy, alive...
Happy blasting.
